Hajiya Ramatu Usman, President of National Council of Women Societies (NCWS),has called on women associations to support President Umaru Yar'Adua's seven-point agenda.

"It is our collective responsibility to support Mr President's seven-point agenda towards making Nigeria one of the leading economies in the world," Usman said in a statement in Abuja.

She said the council would continue to champion the cause of Nigerian women and children at all levels.

Usman, however, noted that the recent crisis in the council had negative effects on women in the country.

"With all the court cases over and rulings by the learned judges, we believe it is now time to put everything behind us and respect the rule of law.

"Although all the court ruling were in favour of the council, we believe there is no victor and no vanquished, rather justice has been upheld.
