A new page has been opened in the history of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms. The Mutual Assistance Scheme of the Staff of the Ministry (MUFOPRA) was officially launched last Friday during the constituent General Assembly of the staff of the Ministry.

Organised by the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, the event brought together representatives from all the ten provinces of the country. Following the absence of solidarity among the personnel and indifference towards one another in times of problems, it was necessary to create a framework to ensure growth and reinforcement of relations between the personnel in the ministerial department. After several years of gestation, the idea of a mutual assistance scheme only became effective in 2006 with the implication of all the departments of the ministry.

Opening the meeting, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Philip Ngolle Ngwesse, said the mutual assistance scheme is the fruit of several years of work. During last Friday's meeting, top on the agenda was the election of an executive bureau to pilot the affairs of the mutual assistance scheme. At the end of the deliberations, the assembly elected members to the posts of the President, Vice President, Secretary General, treasurer, etc. The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Emmanuel Bonde, was appointed President of the Board of Directors, while Yves Tckagadik Njilla was elected president of the Mutual Assistance Scheme. The newly elected bureau was officially installed by the Minister. The sum of FCFA 1,395,000 was equally collected to support the scheme.

Installing the bureau, the Minister said the mutual assistance scheme is a mark of solidarity and fraternity among the personnel. According to the Minister, the newly elected bureau is made up of technicians who are experienced. He assured that the bureau will be able to meet the task ahead of them.
