REMEMBER the 2006 monster hit Ani Akumanyi by Grace Nakimera, Gatimo and Paragon? The track became a phenomenon just within weeks.

The trio became instant superstars and got a nod in the Best New Artiste category at the PAM Awards 2006, but lost to Phina Mugerwa.

After that, the trio slipped into the shadows. Last year, Grace re-entered the music game with Weraga Ki, which did quite well. The song kept her candle burning, but was not as big as Ani Akumanyi.

Radio and TV stations gave it moderate airplay and a few performance deals rolled in.

Determined to go all the way, Grace enlisted the services of Peter Ntege and No End's Henry Kiwuwa, who penned and produced Anfukuula.

The song is a rather explicit expression of a woman's sexual desires. She has also recorded Ayi, a piano-led story of heartbreak, where a woman is trying to come to terms with her love life, after her man walked out of her.

The song also features vocals in Swahili "to reach a wider audience."
