AS PART of their annual week celebration, women of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EP Ghana) have donated assorted beverages, soaps, used clothing, and food items like rice, to the Next Generation Home in Bolgatanga.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the Catchiest of the church, in Bolgatanga, Ben Ashie-Charles, said the donation was meant for the welfare of the occupants of the Next Generation Home, who were mainly street children, orphans and vulnerable children.

Their presence at the Home was also to encourage handlers of the children, to continue the good work.

The Next Generation Home is an international non-governmental organization (NGO), with support from the United Kingdom, based in Bolgatanga, with the aim of rehabilitating street and vulnerable children, as well as orphans.

Catchiest Ashie-Charles, advised the children to be obedient to their handlers at all times, and have hope in the Lord.

He assured the children that if they did this, the Lord would see them through in their lives.

The Resident Officer of the Home, Mr. J. J. Panin, explained that there were five projects being ran by his outfit. These included resident children, resettled children, external education programme, higher education programme, and drop-in programme.

The Home has supported several vulnerable children in technical/vocational education, as well as sponsored some needy students, to the second and tertiary levels of education.

Mr. J. J. Panin revealed that two children, a boy and a girl, were recently abandoned by their Burkinabe mother, who was believed to have been suffering from a mental problem. The children were now in the custody of the Next Generation Home.

According to the Project Manager of the Home, Mr. Felix Fred Amenga-Etego, 105 children have so far benefited from the Home, with some now resettled with their families, after years of separation.
