In continuation with the ongoing resuscitation plans for Nigerian Telecommunications Limited, the Group Managing Director of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc and Chairman NITEL, Mr. Tom Iseghohi and the management team of Transcorp have visited the Saka Tinubu Exchange of NITEL.

During the visit, Mr. Iseghohi and his team were conducted round the exchange facilities; including the building housing the PTO interconnect facility which was partly torched by fire over the weekend.

Satisfied with the level of commitment displayed by the NITEL staff, the new chairman of NITEL, Tom Iseghohi commended the employees whom he assured that the management had taken cognisance of their high level of commitment.

He said, NITEL might not have found itself in a friendly situation today; but the time is coming when the company would reclaim its leadership position in the nation's telecommunications sector.

His words: "to some that time is far from the reach, but to me and other members of the Transcorp management very soon the tide would change in favour of the stakeholders."

Iseghohi stated that it is not a bad thing to face challenges because they mould you and make you better; but it is worse to waste the experience gained during the trying period like this without coming out better refined.

He promised the staff at the exchange that the management would ensure installation of a new PTO room; one that would be equipped with adequate fire walls and security devices.

It will be recalled that Transcorp recently announced the resignation of Chief Alabraba as chairman and Tom Iseghohi as the new Chairman of the NITEL board.

During the course of his career, Tom has been involved in structuring and analyzing hundreds of global, regional and domestic investment opportunities and specific portfolio risk management decisions.

Until his appointment as Group Managing Director of Transcorp and now chairman of the NITEL Board, Mr. Iseghohi was an Executive Vice President at the Hudson Consulting Group, a New York based Commercial and Governmental firm that focuses on Deal Analysis, Deal Creation, Transaction Facilitation, Strategy, Executive Coaching and Transformational Consulting.
