Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX-V: HMG) has appointed Kgosiemang Keith Molosiwa as Country Advisor in Botswana.
The company, which has the right to acquire a 70 percent controlling interest in the Ghantsi Copper-Silver Project, announced last week that Molosiwa joins the company at a time when encouraging results from drilling underscore Ghantsi's significant potential as a future copper-silver district.
Hana Mining said Molosiwa is a successful businessman who has founded, directed and managed a number of major Botswana companies in the mining, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
He also has extensive knowledge of government permitting and regulatory issues in the region. He is an Executive Council Member of the manufacturing sector for the Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) and was a member of the Botswana National Licensing Board before it was decentralised in April 2008.
"Hana Mining is very fortunate to have attracted a professional of Molosiwa's experience and calibre as its country advisor in Botswana," said Peter Wilson, President of Hana Mining.
"Molosiwa's extensive knowledge of government regulatory structures and of the Botswana business climate will be invaluable to us as we continue to advance our Ghantsi Copper-Silver Project."
"These are exciting times for Hana Mining and I welcome the opportunity to contribute to the company's continued growth," said Molosiwa.
As part of his compensation package, Hana Mining said Molosiwa has been granted 100,000 stock options, each such option entitling the holder to acquire one share of the company at an exercise price of $0.52 cents. The options will vest over two years and expire on June 27, 2013.
Hana Mining is a junior exploration company seeking to acquire, explore and develop highly prospective precious, base metals and other mineral projects worldwide, with emphasis in southern Africa.
The Ghantsi Copper-Silver Project consists of five licence blocks covering 4,370 square kilometres that contain widespread sediment-hosted copper-silver mineralisation.
