Tight-lipped about Shaggy's coming, Pilsener Lager's brand manager, Harry Mwanje ingeniously talked about "a surprise guest artiste" for the finals, but Mosh, the passa-passa MC let the cat out of the bag at Dancers' Club Kibuye last week.

"You will have a chance to mingle with Shaggy on the same stage, so perform your best," he told the competing groups and well, the attentive media.

With seven groups already qualified, the search is on for the remaining nine groups in the western region for the passa-passa dance fest. In fact this talent search competition has already made an impact. Ocean Stars, who qualified from Kibuye despite their dreadful performances, surprised everybody at the press conference at Angenior with a much more improved performance. So good was their performance that they became everyone's favourites.

"Since we won the boom box we trained so hard to land that contract," Zein Ibrahim, Ocean Stars' only boy and lead dancer told the Weekly Observer.

Groups that will make it to the next stage will undergo a thorough boot camp from August 4 - 8 with Kombat Dancers instructors.

Each group is allowed to bring along 10 of its fans to a hotel yet to be named with all expenses paid, to watch the final dance fest on August 9.
