House of Representatives has moved to check the activities of hoodlums who steal mobile phones, by sponsoring a Bill that would prohibit the sale of GSM phone lines unless the same are registered by licensed network service providers.

Hon. Arole Fancy , an Action Congress(AC) member representing Surulere 11 Federal constituency of Lagos State, who sponsored the Bill stated that in a bid to correct the anomaly in the society, he had concluded work on six Bills to be presented to the House.

He had earlier raised the issue of poor services being rendered by GSM service providers in the country

He also stated that he had concluded work on three motions that would empower the legislators to suggest and supervise the constituency projects of their choice and also a motion to compel the Federal Government to construct pedestrian bridges on the roads and highways.

Fancy said the motion for the Federal Government to refund to state government all monies spent in the construction and repairs of federal roads, would be listed.

Arole also stressed the need to present a Bill for an act to amend the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) 2008, which he said would establish a central intelligence security database for vehicles' registration.

The importance of this, according to him, cannot be overemphasised due to the incessant snatching and stealing of vehicles, which are neither recovered by the police nor by the actual owners.
