A localL defence unit officer, accused of killing six people, yesterday pleaded guilty to three counts of murder before a Court Martial in Kitgum.

Kenneth Albino admitted to killing David Olach, Ismail Okello and Obina Torit.

He told the court that he was not responsible for the death of Nyedo Oyet, Vincent Omony and David Opira. The case was adjourned to July 30.

The 5th Division Court Martial, chaired by Col. Eric Mukasa, heard that Albino shot six people in a disco hall following a quarrel over a woman last month. On conviction, he will be sentenced to death.

The 5th Division spokesperson, Capt. Deo Akiiki, said Geoffrey Tabu, a civilian who in the same fiasco picked a gun from a drunken special Police constable and shot at people, appeared before a civil court and was released on bond.

The other two suspects, who are both special Police constables, will face the Police disciplinary committee, Akiiki added.

He identified them as Dennis Ochira and Titus Okello.

"The gun that was used in the murder was snatched from one of them when he was drunk," Akiiki noted.
