Adrian Bukenya carries a rib injury that could rule him out of next week's 2011 IRB World Cup pre-qualifier/Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Cup match in Kampala.

South African-born coaching director David Dobela who handles the Rugby Cranes is already considering other options in case Bukenya does not recover on time.

"Adrian is a player I would definitely be happy to have in such a big game but if he's not fit we have a big squad to pick from. Soggy (Robert Seguya), Drake Muyodi or Moses Soita can play No.8. Adrian trains (with us) but we are waiting to hear from the doctor," Dobela said on Tuesday.

The South African tactician is optimistic that Uganda will prevail over Madagascar.

"There's this feeling that we are still on course for a win but we have to work hard for it," Dobela stated.

The 31-man squad that trains at Kyadondo ground will be trimmed to 22 before the team goes into residential training.
