THE Kampala club pitch is favourable to the Rugby Cranes who will be up against Madagascar in the 2011 World Cup qualifier/CAR cup this Saturday, according to the coaching director David Dobela.

Dobela said that his team is plotting to close in the swift Makis on the narrow pitch.

"Unlike the Kyadondo ground which is wide, at Kampala club there will be no gaps for them to penetrate. That's the best way to deal with small opponents. We shall deny them the ball," Dobela stated.

Coach Yayiro Kasasa warned that the Madagascans are used to playing on narrow pitches.

"They are small but lethal and they are very quick. They play on football pitches in Madagascar so they are used to small pitches," Kasasa said.

The Cranes resumed training yesterday after a break on Tuesday.

African champions Uganda must win the match to advance to the next stage where they will compete with three other teams for a place in the World Cup in New Zealand. The winner will also take the African title.

Bell Lager, uganda telecom, 94.8 Vision Voice, Group 4 Securicor and UAP Assurance are sponsors of the highly anticipated match that is expected to attract a capacity crowd.
