Fidelity Bank Plc will partner with the Kano state government in waste management in the state, the bank's regional manager, North, Alhaji Idris Yakubu, has disclosed.

In a press conference at the bank's regional office in Kano yesterday, Alhaji Idris reaffirmed that the move to partner with the state government on waste management was necessitated by the worsening condition of waste management in the state, which he described as an "an eyesore".

Alhaji Idris further said that details of the arrangements will be made public in due course, saying that apart from waste management, " Fidelity bank is carrying out a survey to come up with the best solutions to address the continuous growth of poverty in the north."

According to him, "in order to help address the issue of poverty in the north, Fidelity bank will partner with Micro-Finance banks in the rural areas".

On its contributions to the education sector in the north, Alhaji Idris said that Fidelity bank has partnered with state governments to build and renovate structures such as blocks of classrooms, laboratories and offices in Kano and also hopes to do same across the state as well as provide assistance where necessary.

Alhaji Idris further said that in appreciation of its customers and to promote savings culture by northerners, the bank has created opportunities for savings with as little as N10, adding that the bank will soon launch the Islamic banking system so as to inculcate in people created the idea of non-profit banking.
