A MAN described by the Namibian Police as a professional hunter, Max Nashilongo, has been identified as one of the suspects wanted in connection with a violent farm robbery in the Grootfontein district early last week.

Nashilongo, who is said to be around 26 years old, is a professional hunter, is suspected to be armed at all times, and is now a wanted man, according to a press statement issued by the Police's Public Relations and Liaison Division yesterday.

The Police are looking for Nashilongo in connection with an armed robbery that took place at farm Aandster in the Maroelaboom area northeast of Grootfontein early on Tuesday morning last week.

The robbery took place when farm residents Wessel and Ria Jacobs, aged 68 and 69 respectively, were attacked in their home by three intruders.

A fourth person is thought to have waited outside the couple's house while the robbery was taking place.

After assaulting and tying up the couple, the robbers finally managed to break open a safe in the farmhouse and fled from the farm with cash, jewellery and three handguns.

A first suspect, Napembe Abrahams (34), was arrested at Grootfontein on Tuesday last week, while a second suspect, Johannes Moses Jackson (32), was arrested in Windhoek later in the week.

The Police are now looking for Nashilongo as well.

According to a Police spokesperson, Sergeant Stephan Nuuyi, Nashilongo is about 1,7 metres tall, slender and light in complexion.

He speaks Oshiwambo and is also fluent in English and Afrikaans.

He is suspected to be in the Ombili area in Windhoek.

Nuuyi advised the public not to try to arrest Nashilongo, but to inform the Police where he could be found.
