For three months starting yesterday, the whole country and indeed the continent will stay glued to television as the Big Brother reality series once again grabs our attention or turns us into couch potatoes - night or day.

Popular, raunchy and controversial but acclaimed successful reality show on the small screen Big Brother Africa III, hit our screens yesterday as Namibian housemate Lucille Naobes, 21, was introduced to the audience during the live televised launch here in the capital.

Yesterday 12 housemates began an incredible 91-day adventure in the house.

Once again a cool US$100 000 is up for grabs. Season three is set to mirror the runaway success of the first two seasons, according to the organisers.

But it won't be easy, tears will be shed, traditional back-stabbing will be common, drinking binges and weird arguments will be the order of the day.

The organisers kept the Namibian representative under the lid until yesterday when they unveiled the 21-year-old University of Namibia student at the launch of the series. Even Naobes' relatives were unable to provide more detail on the life of the 21-year-old, citing media restrictions.

Party-goers, socialites and revellers, converged at a local entertainment centre in the industrial area on the outskirts of the city to view their third Namibian housemate. Naobes adorned in a lily green dress, officially became the sixth contestant to enter the rejuvenated and redecorated BBA house.

The former Delta Secondary School learner when asked what chances she has of grabbing the US$100000, stressed with confidence that the money is heading all the way to Namibia.

M-Net has once again confirmed that Kabelo "KB" Ngakane returns as series presenter in a role he reprises from last season. The much-loved Channel O VJ and radio DJ, whose recently released single How Low Can You Go has seen him make the leap from TV personality to performer, will continue to be the primary link between the housemates and series fans.

Comprising two bedrooms, one bathroom, a large lounge, an open plan dining area, a kitchen, diary room and a garden, complete with a striking new pool, it's in the décor that the house marks it's most dramatic differences.

Colourful, bold and with a style that can only be described as an eclectic mix of energetic, youthful and fairytale, the BIG BROTHER AFRICA house is a character all on its own. So say the shows promoters in Namibia.

In addition, the new house is equipped with 24 cameras and 52 microphones to provide viewers with a bird's eye view of the show all day, everyday on DStv Channel 198. Fans who tune in for the launch show will get the first complete look at the house, from top to bottom!

With new twists and turns the popular 'shower hour' will now move from its morning slot to a late-night slot, giving housemates a new twist to life in the BB house - enough said.

Naobes is the third Namibian housemate after subtle, successful and rocker Stefan Ludik and fun-loving free-spirited and adventurous actress Meryl Shikwambane.

In addition to the Big Brother Africa website, fans can also interact with the series by SMS'ing the Big Brother Africa strapline, which is available on screen on pay channel Dstv.

For details of SMS numbers to use in each country, for detailed information on the Big Brother Africa housemates and for breaking news from the house, DStv audiences need only press the OK button on their DStv remote to access the series.

This 'OK' function, plus the Big Brother Africa website went live last night. Every Tuesday to Friday, fans who would have missed any of the Big Brother Africa action can tune in to M-Net for daily edited highlights, along with a Monday night nomination show.
