The performance and dedication of the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, towards the development and modernisation of the media sector has been acknowledged by the Social Communication Ministry.

This is part of a congratulations message issued by the Social Communication Ministry, in the ambit of the celebrations of the 66th birth of the Angolan Head of State, marked on August 28.

On the document, the Media Ministry highlights the President's sagacity, at the same time that it thanks the statesman's attention, institutional and personal support to the execution of the broad programme of reforms and technical modernisation of this governmental department, as well as the adjustment of the legislation, professional training, equipping, technical/material reinforcement of media organs.

José Eduardo dos Santos was born on August 28, 1942, in Sambizanga District, in Luanda.
