Stephen Appiah says he is delighted to be back in the national team fold after ten months out.

The inspirational Ghana captain was included in the side after recovering from an injury that has kept him out since November 2007.

I am confident we can overcome Libya and progress as all Ghanaians hope we will

Now training with Brescia in Italy after falling out with club side Fernabahce, Appiah says the cal up is a major boost after his recovery from injury.

"Its good to be back playing football but to be included in the squad is something special and I am very happy about it," he told his personal website.

"I have been out of competitive football for a long time but I have been training and working hard since I was given the all clear by my doctors so if Mr. Rajevac decides to field me against Libya, I will be ready to serve my beloved Ghana," he added.

Appiah is thrilled with the opportunity to team up with all his previous national team mates and is hopeful there will be a positive result in Tripoli.
