Former Super Eagles star striker, Daniel Amokachi believed it would not be right to rush members of the victorious Olympic squad into the country's senior national team. Amokachi, who is a member of the present Super Eagles technical crew headed by Shaibu Amodu, said even as the team and players may have done well, they should grow steadily into the senior national team.

"All of them have stood out so there will be no need for me to name any player here. It was never a one man show but team work," Amokachi told KickOffNigeria.com.

"From what happened at the Olympic Games you will see that the players have proven that they can play at the highest level and they do not need to prove anything to any one.

"If any of them is given the chance, I think that person may not disappoint but they must take it easy.

"People mention how strong Adeleye was in defence, but in considering him for the Eagles starting line up he has to contend with Danny Shittu, Joseph Yobo and Obinna Nwaneri and the same applies to every other player in the Olympic team.

"What I am saying is that they will have to work hard to get into the Super Eagles because it will not just be a walk in the park."

Three Matches should be organized for the two teams and the team that wins two of the three matches should represent Nigeria in the next Mundial and African Cup of Nations respectively. Minor adjustments may be made with respect to outstanding players who may have distinguished themselves particularly in the striking department…
