Veteran midfielder Frank Makua has parted ways with First Division Inland Stream Witbank Spurs citing 'misunderstandings' with the club.
Makua, who is now looking to venture into development coaching in his home town, tells KickOff.com that while he can still play, he doesn't genuinely fancy his chances thus his focus is on the future.
"I am no longer with Spurs after having joined the club towards the end of last season when they were fighting relegation. The reason I left is because we had misunderstandings here and there. I got this feeling that my input wasn't being really appreciated so I thought that it would be better if I left.
"I joined the club as a player, but I lacked match fitness and eventually didn't even play. I thought I could still make an input trying to assist wherever possible, but then in the end I got this feeling that better I leave.
"When pre-season started I was there; when trials were held, I was there, but in the end I felt that I was not being appreciated," says the 34-year-old, whose departure from Dynamos two years ago also left a bitter taste.
"I am caught up in a difficult situation right now. I am prepared to play as I believe I still have something to offer, though I know how difficult it will be to be offered a contract.
"I am prepared to develop talent in Witbank as there are no longer many players being produced from here as in the past.
"The only notable players to come out of here of late are Tshepo Masilela and Innocent Mdledle and I don't see any others coming up through the ranks.
"I intend taking it on myself to visit schools and try to identify talent that will continue to represent the area," he says.
Since leaving Kaizer Chiefs in his prime, Makua has also played at Ria Stars, SuperSport United and Manning Rangers.
