The director of the National Institute for Education Research and Development (INIDE), David Chivela, announced that the project of introducing the subject of Business Education, in secondary school, is to start being materialised as from October, in 10 provinces of the country.

Speaking to ANGOP, about the programme of the institution in the last six years, turned to the improvement of the education system, INIDE director said that the project is a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and it will benefit over five thousand students and it is aimed at promoting entrepreneurial capacities among young people.

The project also aims at promoting sustainability, creation of new jobs and fight against poverty. In the first five years (first phase), it will be applied more than USD 5 million, the official said.

To achieve better results, the project will be introduced as a curricular subject having into account the specificity of each course and province, he explained.

The choice of these regions for the experimental phase answered to the development index of the provinces and student population density, said the official who said the project will be expanded countrywide.

Concerning to the elaboration of new school materials for the Education Reform underway since 2004, the School Acceleration Programme (2007) was concerned with changing the contents and introducing the learning issues and major interaction among students and teachers.

According to INIDE director, his institution does not face any difficulty in manufacturing manuals for Pre-School up to the first cycle of the secondary school.

As from 2009, INIDE will be more committed to the production of books for second cycle (from 10th to 12th grade) so as to reduce the scarcity of the material in this level, mainly for those who attend the technical and professional area, as well as reduce their costs.

The launch of the new geographic atlas in 2008, after more than 20 years has also marked the activity of INIDE in recent years.

Due to staff training, 90 per cent of the didactic material that has been updated was under the responsibility of national technicians.
