The awards ceremony was organized by Balm of Gilead Communication and Associates last Thursday at the Airport West Hotel, Accra. According to the organizers, the Ghana shippers Council won the ward after a rigorous nomination and screening exercise supervised by respected industry experts from diverse backgrounds within the West Africa sub-Region.

The award was received by Naa Agyekum Gyamerah, the Council's Public Relation Manager. The organizers noted with appreciation the Council's role in protecting and promoting the interest of shippers in Ghana and in particular and West Africa.

They also recognized the contribution of the Council to the development of maritime infrastructure in Ghana. The organization also recognized with appreciation the pivotal role the Council has played and continues to play in the activities of the Union of Africa Shippers Councils.

The West Africa Maritime Awards (WAMA) is the premier and only region awards programme dedicated to the promotion of excellence, integrity and quality service in the Maritime business service.
