Seyi Olofinjana says the Eagles will defend Nigeria's pride despite being without four injured regular players.
Captain and vice, Nwankwo Kanu and Joseph Yobo as well as John Mikel Obi and Obafemi Martins have been ruled out of Saturday's 2010 World/Nations Cup qualifier against South Africa's Bafana Bafana but Olofinjana says any one who plays will represent the country well.
Emmanuel Okoduwa was also part of the initial list but also pulled out with injury.
Olofinjana told a live sports program on SuperSport that the team will miss their injured colleagues but will live up to expectations.
"You will agree with me that any Nigerian side will play like a Nigerian side. Yes a few of them are injured but we came here with enough quality to see off South Africa."
Olofinjana regretted the issue at the airport where the team was delayed a bit but said he saw it as part of football politics in Africa.
