Super Eagles players on Friday celebrated with stand-in skipper, Yakubu Aiyegbeni over his record setting goals run in the English Premier League.

Yakubu scored his 100th English Premier League goal two weeks ago and spokesman of the Super Eagles, Idah Peterside told KickOffNigeria.com that the players held a surprise celebration for him.

"You know he is the first African to score one hundred goals in the English Premier League so the players just popped champagne, wine and poured it on his head after the training session on Friday evening.

"It was fun. He did not expect it and we did not expect it too but they all enjoyed themselves and they showed him that as team mates they always have each others progress in mind.

"You know it was important they celebrate with him for doing Nigeria proud in the English Premiership," Idah said.

Idah Peterside added that the Eagles did some charity work on Friday as they hosted a motherless baby's home from "The house of resurrection haven."
