Angola: Cape Verdean Singer Praises Country's Music Evolution

Cape Verdean musician Cris considered last Saturday that the Angolan music has had a notable development in last years, due to the artists engagement and the contact with new styles.

Speaking to ANGOP, during a ceremony in which she presented her debut album entitled "Amor Vagabundo", in Lubango City, in the southern Huila Province, the singer that the current evolutionary moment of the Angolan music is welcome for the African Portuguese Speaking Community (PALOP), as the Angolan artists are creating a very peculiar and particular style.

"I think that a lot of other African singers, mainly from PALOP, will be singing this new style of Angolan Zouk, that's why I worked my album in Angola and with Angolan musicians", stressed the 24-year old singer, who recognised that there are many good talented singers in Angola.

Cris said that in her first CD, released on 2 September in the northern Cabinda Province, she incorporated Angolan style like kizomba and tarrachinha, as well as the traditional style of her country.

The CD "coração vagabundo" comprises 9 tracks and has the participation of Angolan musicians, such as Why as the producer, Tino Mc and Cape Verdean singers, namely Humberto, Kiki, Marta, Miss S and Michel.
