Nigeria: Delta Assures Orphans On Fees

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has in line with his human capital development agenda has declared that the state government will take over the responsibility of payment of school fees of orphans in orphanage homes in Delta State.

Uduaghan who made the declaration while interacting with children from orphanage homes who gathered to celebrate with wife of the governor and founder of the 'I-Care' pet project, Mrs. Roli Sheila Uduaghan, urged the children not to see their situation as a disadvantage.

He said "from among these children will emerge a governor of this state in future," urging that "as children in orphanage homes, you should not see your condition as a disadvantage. Try your best and God will always be there for you."

The governor said: "As part of the human capital development of this administration, government will take over the payment of school fees of these children in orphanage homes."

The occasion was the 47th birthday anniversary of the wife of the Governor and highlights of the occasion included presentation of gifts to the children from various orphanage homes across the state.

Amongst those present at the occasion were top government functionaries, members of the 'I-Care' team, members of the organised private sector as well as friends and family members of the celebrant.

Mrs. Uduaghan on her part lifted the spirit of the children, dancing and interacting freely with them. In her remarks, she urged them to remain focused; adding that God will continue to be with them while stressing that she would not relent in her efforts to improve the life of children through the 'I-Care' project.
