Eid Al-Fetir was colorfully celebrated today across the nation. In the celebrations at the Bahti Meskerem Square here in the capital, followers of the Islamic faith from different mosques took part and conducted prayers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Mufti, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin, said that the event marks a moment of joy, forgiveness and mutual support. He further stressed the need to extend assistance to fellow needy citizens.

Also at the celebrations in the Al-Kulafa Al-Rashideen Mosque in Asmara following the Salat Eid, the Mufti outlined the historical origin of Eid Al-Fetir.

Commending members of the Defense Force engaged in different development programs, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin expressed goodwill to all those who are carrying out major development tasks across the nation. Moreover, he wished happy Eid to the faithful, as well as peace and prosperity to the people and Government of Eritrea.

Students and teachers of Koran schools in Asmara presented spiritual songs on the occasion, thus adding color to the celebrations.
