A new micro-dam is under construction in Laelai Hatsina, Areza sub-zone, at a cost of about 3 million Nakfa. The expenses were covered by the Administration of the Southern region and partners.

The micro-dam with a capacity of holding over 55,000 cubic meters of water is being undertaken through the Bidho Construction Company.

The supervisor of the project, Mr. Michael Tesfamariam, explained that upon finalization of the construction of the micro-dam, it is expected to facilitate irrigation farming in the nearby farm plots, besides enriching underground water resource. He further pointed out that the local inhabitants are taking active participation in the undertaking.
