The long awaited draws of the 6th edition of the Female African Cup of Nations, AFCON, billed for Equatorial Guinea from November 15-29 have been made.

The Lionesses of Cameroon will play in Group A alongside the host country, Mali and Congo.

The competition will pit eight countries drawn in two groups. Group B comprises of current cup holders Nigeria, the Black Queens of Ghana, the Bayana Bayana of South Africa and Tunisia.

The kick-off, scheduled for November 15, at the Malabo Main Stadium, will pit the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea against their neighbours, Cameroon. Though the Lionesses' performance to this final stage may not have been the best according to pundits, head coach, Enoch Ngachu is very ambitious and optimistic. He says his objective is to grab that trophy which has been slipping out of Cameroon's hands for a long time now.

On November 18, the Lionesses will clash with Mali in their second group game. The Malians are said to have scored the highest number of goals during the qualifiers. It should be recalled that in their last two confrontations, the Lionesses beat them once and drew once.

The Lionesses play their last group game, November 21, in Bata against newcomers, Congo.

With Cameroon yet to launch preparations ahead of the Malabo rendez- vous, it is difficult for fans to detect whether coach Ngatchu's optimism is an illusion or not.
