President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali performed the traditional Eid-el-Fitr prayer on Wednesday morning at the "El-Abidine" mosque in Carthage.

A large number of citizens attended the prayer conducted by sheikh Othman Battikh.In his Eid preach , the imam reviewed the great virtues of fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan, the month of abundance, blessing and forgiveness and listed its noble meanings which include mutual aid and love of others.The imam also stressed President Ben Ali's commitment to consecrate the values of the sublime Islamic religion, namely virtue, moderation, the golden mean, and solidarity, which earned Tunisia an excellent position among nations thanks to the climate of security and stability prevailing in the country as well as the progress achieved in all sectors .At the end of the ceremony, President Ben Ali exchanged greetings with the faithful who attended the ceremony.
