Nigeria's Super Eagles would face its Sierra Leone counterpart in a World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday wearing new set of jerseys.

Daily Independent learnt that the development is as a result of the recent visit of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to Germany, where it held talks with sports wear manufacturing giant, Adidas, who is also kit sponsor of the country's national teams.

The NFF's visit was centred on talks to get an improved deal for the Super Eagles and other national teams.

Part of the deal would be unraveled on Saturday as the Super Eagles wear the new jerseys to confront the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone at the Abuja National Stadium.

The jerseys, according to investigation, would carry NFF imprint for the first time since the country's football governing body changed its name from NFA this year at its Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our source also confirmed that the name of the official sponsor of the national teams in the country, Globacom Nigeria Limited, is also printed on the jersey.

It is understood that the inclusion of Globacom is a way of recognising the contribution of the telecommunications firm to the development of football in Nigeria.

"The new jerseys are already in the country and it is an improved version than the previous ones worn by the Super Eagles. Instead of carrying the emblem of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) as it has been since the change of name, the new jersey would now carry the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). It will also have the name of the NFF's partner, Globacom. The name of Globacom is being added as a new concept to reward it for its support over the years and also encourage other partners to continue in their partnership with us," disclosed a top official of the football federation, who craved anonymity.
