Uganda: RDC Warns NGOs on Spending

Money spent on workshops by NGOs operating in the north is a waste, Gulu Deputy RDC Martin Odong has said.

The RDC urged these organisations to put in mind the needs of people who are currently returning to their villages in mind.

The LC3 chairperson for Pece Division, Mr Denis Ocaya, said 40 to 60 per cent of the NGOs funds is used to buy the best vehicles and constructing good office premises.

"It is time to return home, trainings are less needed. Practical work should be emphasised instead," Mr Ocaya said. An estimated 300 NGOs operate in the north.
