Owerri-Imo State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 18 suspected armed robbers, including a police constable serving at Ogwa Police State, Mbaitoli local government area of the state,
while varying arms and ammunition was recovered from the hoodlums.Disclosing this to newsmen in Owerri, the commissioner of Police, Mr. Innocent Ilozuoke, said that following a distress call that armed robbers were operating at Amaraku, Isiala Mbano local government area, "men of the Command were detailed to the scene where they arrested F/No 401451 PC Isaac Ewah, and two others, Semeon Njoku and Promise Chimezie in the act".
According to the Imo police boss, some of the armed robbers that recently attacked innocent citizens at Telow Road and World Bank Housing Estate in Owerri, have been nabbed, but was particularly irked about one Uzoma Onwuegbulam's gang that robbed and raped the wife of their victim.
