A NAMIBIAN Police officer is being treated in a Windhoek hospital for a gunshot wound to her head after her boyfriend allegedly shot her before turning his gun on himself on Wednesday morning.

According to a Namibian Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Theophillus Willem, Police officer Theopolina Ndeshihaluka Shikomba (36) is being treated in the Katutura State Hospital, where her condition was said to be improving yesterday, for the injuries she sustained in the shooting incident on Wednesday.

Shikomba was allegedly shot by her boyfriend, Gabriel Ndevaepela, at a house in Okuryangava early on Wednesday morning.

Ndevaepela thereafter turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, it is suspected.
