Bafana Bafana has arrived safely in Equatorial Guinea. The South African team was forced to travel without security personnel and the media officer, following the refusal by the Equatorial Guinea embassy to grant the support staff visas.

National team coach Joel Santana is also making final preparations for tomorrow's last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier that will be played under extremely hot conditions, with temperatures expected to be around 34.

Safa head of Security Zane Cleophas says the South African Embassy has played a pivotal role by providing security for the team, and assisting with other logistics including escorting the team to training and hotels.

The embassy has provided four personnel on a rotational basis to be with the team.

Cleophas says a concern was registered with the Football Federation of Equatorial Guinea about the pitch invasions that happened in a fixture against Sierra Leone, and the Federation has committed to erect the fence as a corrective measure.
