Insecurity Compounds Mozambique's Post-Cyclone Crisis

An estimated 2.5 million Mozambicans are already in need of humanitarian assistance, while more than 1.6 million citizens are severely food insecure. Added to these challenges are insurgent attacks, contested elections and drought. All of this is sparking fresh humanitarian and security concerns for a country struggling in the aftermath of back-to-back cyclones that pummelled the southern African nation earlier this year.
