Nigerian Publisher/Politician Rearrested in Court After Release

Former presidential candidate and political activist Omoyele Sowore was rearrested by Department of State Service (DSS) agents Friday in court following his release Thursday night after being held since August for organising #RevolutionNow protests. Repeated court orders for his release were ignored, and he was charged with treason, money laundering and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.

Omoyele Sowore, an activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, was the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the last general election.
